SOME of the county's best young athletes took part in the Gloucestershire Cross Country Championships at Tewkesbury School on Saturday. Runners aged from Under-11 to Under-17 took on a challenging cross country course over distances ranging from 1.9km for the younger athletes to 4.5km for older youths.

There were also races for seniors, ladies and veterans representing county clubs.
