CAN any of your elderly readers help with information about the "Wishing Stone" which has stood on the corner of Wellesley Road and Clarington Mews, Cheltenham, for well over a century? Was it a milestone on entering the town when all around it were fields? How has it survived? Is it listed and part of the town's heritage? I am 73 years old and, like hundreds of small children, would place a small stone in a crevice and make a wish.
