DOUBTS have been raised about a scheme to close hospital beds in Gloucestershire Head of the county health watchdog committee, Councillor Andrew Gravells, says a number of wards are already full and shutting beds might not be in patients' best interests.
Earlier this year, bosses announced plans to axe up to 200 beds in a bid to save Pounds 30 million. But following a public outcry, the plan was put out to consultation and brought before the county council's health, community and care overview and scrutiny committee.See the full content of this document
