EVERY autumn, more than 100,000 visitors descend upon the Cotswolds with just one aim in mind - to admire the leaves. Westonbirt Arboretum on a sunny day is recognised as one of the most spectacular sites in Gloucestershire. Hugh Angus, 57, the head of tree collections at Westonbirt, said: "When you walk around the arboretum at this time of year you''ll hear a gasp from a leaf peeper, who will then stop dead in their tracks as they''ve seen a tree or a view that has overwhelmed them.
Covering 600 acres, there are more than 16,000 different trees and shrubs in this colossal landscape, criss-crossed by more than 17 miles of paths.See the full content of this document
