VICTORIA Cook is the new chief crown prosecutor for Gloucestershire. In the first of a regular column, Victoria explains the challenges involved in prosecuting rape cases. The Director of Public Prosecutions, who is the head of the Crown Prosecution Service, has announced measures to boost the quality of rape prosecutions across England and Wales.

It's my job, as head of the CPS in Gloucestershire, to make sure a consistent and first class service is delivered locally.
