TORY MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown has defended himself after indicating that party leader David Cameron may do a U-turn on his pledge to oppose a third runway at Heathrow.

Mr Clifton-Brown, for the Cotswolds, who is a shadow international trade and development minister, had told a constituent he was "fully aware of the potential damage this might do to Britain's international air travel" and expected the issue to be revisited after the next General Election.
