Madam - I refer to comments (Letters, April 20) about the inadequate specimen of a dog owner who cycled some three miles at high speed pulling a small dog who was clearly struggling and collapsed at the lights.

I would like to suggest a suitable lesson and excellent exercise for him might be to tie him by a longish lead to a car which could then pull him along at speed, requiring him to keep up or suffer the consequences.
