IT was reassuring to read (Echo, August 27) Keith Jameson's assessment of my contribution to the Great Debate which was headlined "Should the Pope be coming to Britain?" Mr Jameson and I are surely not alone in being dubious of His Holiness's designation as a "head of state", not to mention highly critical of his central role in the cover-up of sexual abuse by priests.
I suspect, however, that Mr Jameson may have a few of his facts wrong concerning the "reburial" of Cardinal Newman's remains in advance of his beatification by Benedict XVI.See the full content of this document
