Raf Veteran Gets Honour

Summary


Veteran pilot Joy Lofthouse received a badge from Gordon Brown on Tuesday to commemorate her flying exploits during the Second World War.

The 85-year-old, from Cirencester, was one of the first women to fly service aircraft during the war as part of the Air Transport Auxiliary which was responsible for delivering planes between factories and RAF bases.
