THE resident company of The Playhouse Theatre in Cheltenham is about to turn 50 and is launching its anniversary season with a musical and theatrical extravaganza. During its history The Playhouse Company has put on more than 200 productions and their latest - Quintessence - brings together excerpts and popular songs which reflect the rich variety of shows presented during the past 50 years.

The show includes a classic medley from Old Time Music Hall, excerpts from Pinter, Shakespeare and Willy Russell and song from shows such as Kiss Me Kate, Chicago, The Boyfriend and Oh What A Lovely War.
