WHAT is disturbing about the letter from Coun John Webster (Echo, November 30) in his reply to the letter from A. Davidson is his apparent lack of understanding of what 'an urban area' means. As the title suggests, it is the built-up part of a town, just as the 'rural area' is known as the countryside.
Cheltenham, with its existing boundaries is one of the 'principal urban areas' of the county and according to the Joint Core Strategy (JCS), which is out for public consultation, states that an additional 8,100 dwellings will be provided for in the Joint Core Strategy Area of Cheltenham.See the full content of this document
