Summary
IT was show time in our village last week.
Blemish-free potatoes, runner beans and rosy tomatoes lined up to be inspected by exacting judges, along with a virtual greengrocer's shop worth of beetroot, courgettes, peppers, onions and shallots. Tables creeked under the weight of the heavyweight marrows, all of which were no doubt swelled by this summer's rains: the largest of the lot was too heavy to be weighed by the scales brought along by the judges.See the full content of this document
