Extra financial support from a variety of sources has meant the council can take a lead role in maintaining its existing flood risk management programme, as well as completing new flood alleviation schemes all over the borough. In the past three years, more than 250 projects have been tackled by the council.
Flood defence barriers were purchased, under ground drainage pipes have been installed and channel improvements have been made. Some of the areas which have benefited from the improvement work include those worst hit in 2007: Warden Hill Prestbury including St Mary's School Hyde Lane Oak Avenue Charlton Court Road Naunton Parade Imjin Road Sandy Lane Cleevemount Road Glynrosa Road Extensive flood protection work has also been undertaken at leisure@cheltenham, where an earth embankment has been constructed between the leisure facilities and Pittville Lake.See the full content of this document
