Middle-class parents are struggling to bring up their children after being "overwhelmed" by advice, according to a Cheltenham headmistress.

Vicky Tuck, principal of Cheltenham Ladies' College, said a boom in the number of books, websites and reality television programmes devoted to parenting "crowds and obscures" the judgement of many mothers and fathers.
