A COTSWOLDS hotel has been ordered to pay more than Pounds 11,000 in fines and costs after fat from the kitchens caused pollution in a watercourse by Prince Charles' Highgrove estate.

Cotswold Inns and Hotels, owners of the Hare and Hounds Hotel, at Westonbirt, near Tetbury, pleaded guilty to two offences of contravening a consent to discharge contrary to the Water Resources Act 1991.
