SNOW and ice in the county earlier this year cost Gloucestershire's hospitals about Pounds 3 million. The cold snap in January, which left areas of Gloucestershire plagued by inches of snow, led to staff absences and patient cancellations at Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
