Summary
I READ with interest your report on the proposal for a service station near Cheltenham (Echo, September 17).
A new motorway services on my doorstep would not normally be of interest to a pensioner like myself. However a services in the pattern of the Tebay centre is a different matter. At Tebay there are no franchised outlets, everything about the Westmoreland style is in total contrast to the motorway service stereotype we are used to. When my wife and I travel north we always make a point of trying to time our journey so that we are in the area at an appropriate time for the best available lunch on the whole of the UK motorway system. On returning we always stock up with high quality produce at the farm shop.See the full content of this document
