Girls Take Fringe Stage

Summary

A TALENTED group of young actresses from Cheltenham Ladies' College are plying their skills at the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Eight girls from the college are appearing this week in an adaptation of Emile Zola's book Therese Raquin.

The play examines how society judges women, as seen through the eyes of the main character, Therese. Sarah Delaney, head of drama at the Ladies' College, said: "Participating in the Edinburgh Festival is always a fabulous opportunity for the girls to perform on an international stage in front of an international audience." Next month they will perform the play at the college's new Pounds 12.2 million performing arts centre.
