AXING Pounds 30 billion plans to build a barrage across the Severn estuary has drawn a mixed reaction in Gloucestershire.
The Government ruled out the scheme yesterday claiming the cost of constructing the ten-mile barrier between Cardiff and Weston- super-Mare would be "excessive". If built, its hydroelectric turbines could have generated five per cent of the UK's energy requirements.See the full content of this document
