PEOPLE are being urged to take care when working outside after a man caught a potentially deadly disease while clearing a ditch. The worker, who was clearing fly-tipped waste in Tewkesbury borough, contracted Weil's disease.
It is transmitted through contact with animal urine, particularly from rodents, cattle and pigs. In most cases it is very mild but it can be deadly, so recognising the early flu-like symptoms is important because it can easily be treated with antibiotics.See the full content of this document
