Madam - I share Pip Millard's love of spiders (Echo, September 8) but as a man, I am not sure about some female spider species' habit of eating her man for breakfast.
Your picture with Pip is one such species of spiders but it looks to me like an English resident garden spider, sometimes known as a cross spider. Not with its "hubby", please understand, but because it has a white cross marking on its abdomen, as you can clearly see in the Echo picture.See the full content of this document
