Summary
The Cheltenham Music Festival is offering an adventurous range of music this time round. Here, for instance, concertgoers were treated to a sequence of ciacconas, jacaras, morescas, bergamascos, soleas and fandangos and other traditional music from Spain, Portugal and Latin America dating back centuries.
L'Arpeggiata, an early music ensemble led by theorbist Christina Pluhar, proved to be masters of improvisation.
