LIKE Jim Perkins of Leckhampton (Letters, July 12) I have been known to enjoy an ale or two in one of our many establishments in our fair borough, and would rather the extra 80 per cent the Government has levied on me went to the vendors.
It is worth noting that while France levies a tax six times less than us, you will pay as much if not more for your drink in a bar over there. It seems the cost of a pint has little to do with the cost incurred, and all to do with how much they can get out of you.See the full content of this document
