WHAT do a Gloucestershire journalist, teacher, nurse, postman, surveyor, landscape gardener, mechanic, after-dinner speaker, pub landlord and forester have in common? They're all giving up their turkey and mince pies for a real Christmas cracker - driving in convoy through Gloucestershire to The Gambia to raise thousands of pounds for African schoolchildren.

Aged from 21 to 70, 17 intrepid explorers from all walks of life - including Gloucestershire Media's Tanya Gledhill - will pack into five minibuses, one support vehicle and a VW Golf on December 20.
