A YOUNG mother who allegedly stabbed a woman with a 10-inch kitchen knife has been remanded in custody after being charged with attempted murder. Kirsty Hulse, 20, of Moors Avenue in Cheltenham, was arrested on Sunday morning after police were called to an address in St Peter's Square. The defendant was in tears in the dock at Cheltenham Magistrates' Cour t as the charges were read to her. The prosecution alleged that she left her baby son at home alone during the attack. She is accused of attempting to murder Nicola Agg at an address in St Peter's Square at around 1.30am on Sunday.

Hulse also faces charges of assaulting a witness by beating her and being in possession of a large kitchen knife. Prosecutor Sharon Jomaa said police were called to the house after a report of a stabbing. Hulse is alleged to have gone to the injured woman's home armed with a 10-inch blade, forced her way through the door and stabbed her. Then when a neighbour, who saw the alleged attack, ran out of the house to call the police, Hulse is said to have grabbed her from behind and tried to get her on the floor. Police then arrived at the scene. Wounds The injured woman, who suffered stab wounds to her chest, left arm and right hip, was taken to hospital. She discharged herself when the wounds were deemed non-life- threatening.
