Summary


"It's January I must go to the Gym" As the New Year begins so do the New Year resolutions.

Top of everyone's list is usually, "must lose weight and get fit". Certainly gym membership will lose you pounds but, sadly, often from your pocket rather than your waistline. So how are we going to slow what is now being called the obesity time bomb? A good psychologist would always start with accepting ownership of the problem and avoiding denial behaviour. Understanding that excessive weight gain is a reality will helps one to move forward and start action. So if dieting is the solution, why do we have more than 1,000 different diets? If one diet really worked, why all the others? If doctors had the answer then we shouldn't see overweight medics!
