I Find the reported comments by MP for Tewkesbury Laurence Robertson (Echo, April 24) that he will fight to maintain his present salary and expenses allowance unfortunate when many of the taxpayers who pay his salary and very generous expense allowance, are facing not only a pay cut, but the possibility of losing their jobs altogether.
As an 85-year-old pensioner, I wish I could be so dogmatic to the Government regarding my pension. All the five per cent increase this year has gone to Scottish Power to cover their high charges for electricity and gas as they refuse to reduce their charges in line with the current price of crude oil of approximately 50.See the full content of this document
