CHELTENHAM TOWN 2 DAGENHAM AND REDBRIDGE 1 CHELTENHAM Town have made a better start than they did last season and it is becoming increasingly probable they are capable of following through early promise this time. Their fourth win in six home league games took them back into the top seven and while Mark Yates will ensure everyone remains grounded, many of the factors that contributed to the second half capitulation last year appear to have been eradicated. Last season's squad had plenty of talent, but it was lacking tenacity, experience and depth.

Yates' summer recruitment drive has given him enough options to cause a constant selection headache in every position and there is added bite and know-how to support the flair and blossoming young talent.
