Aimed at promoting excellence and talent in contemporary drawing, the competition, which began in Cheltenham, is being held at the University of Gloucestershire's Summerfield Gallery.
More than 2,300 drawings were entered, with 74 shortlisted for the exhibition, including pieces by four county-based artists. Started in 1994 as the annual Cheltenham Open Drawing Exhibition, the competition was renamed The Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2001 when the Jerwood Charitable Foundation became the main benefactor.
