TOM Curr admits his first term at Butler University in Indianapolis has taught him to grow up fast as he tries to get to grips with the highly competitive world of American college athletics. The 19-year-old Stroud and District AC runner is back home for a month's holiday in Gloucestershire before returning to tackle the indoor season, in which he hopes to break four minutes for the mile for the first time. After a tough baptism in his first season Stateside Curr feels he is ready to take that next big step forward and move from being a promising junior into becoming a successful senior athlete. "My first term at Butler has been really good and I have enjoyed it," said Curr.
