Summary
In his excellent letter (October 2) Chris Yates completely demolishes the very weak arguments against the development of Gloucestershire Airport by the Green Party. It should be absolutely clear that the proposed safety measures will have no impact on global warming and, as he quite rightly implies, failure to implement the proposals would simply divert flights, revenue and jobs to other airports.
