THE Cranham training group, part of the Midland Golden Retriever Club, which runs training classes for retrievers, recently organised a charity working test at Norton. There were 154 dogs entered in the three special classes for puppy, novice and open.

Members of a working group in the village, backed by the school's governors, believe that is the best way of avoiding Longdon St Mary's CofE Primary School being closed. It has been earmarked to shut by Worcestershire County Council on August 31 because of low pupil numbers.
