AN article in Saturday's Echo reported that John Aldridge had been arrested on suspicion of theft in a police raid near Chipping Norton. We have been asked to point out that this was John Aldridge, 55, a scrap metal merchant who works at Great Rollright, near Chipping Norton, and lives in Stow-on-the-Wold.

Homeless Charity Funds Cut

QUESTIONS have been fired at Cotswold District Council for potentially leaving youngsters homeless by cutting funds to an accommodation charity. The authority is set to terminate its lease on a property at Ashcroft Road, one of several being used by Cirencester Homeless Young People. Gloucestershire County Council has also slashed Pounds 116,000 in funding to the charity.
