Bull Charges to Lilley Brook Success
Lilley Brook's Lady Captain's Day was held in brilliant sunshine with 53 playing members taking part. First division winner was Donna Bull with 43 points, Closely followed by Marlene Phipps with 41 points.
Rudge, Webber Take County Crown
Andy Rudge and James Webber won the Gloucestershire Foursomes Championship at The Kendleshire. Ross Langdon (Gloucester) and Dave Wood (Chipping Sodbury) 74, were the early leaders in the club house until Craig Mayo (Cirencester) and Adam Plummer (Chipping Sodbury) came in with a late 73 to take the halfway lead.
Evans Records Memorable Feat at Cleeve
David Evans produced a round to remember to win the President's Cup at Cleeve Cloud Golf Club. The five-handicapper carded 69, one less than his age, a feat not many golfers manage to perform, for the best gross score.
Vider Leads Super Six at Broadway
Six players from the ladies' section at Broadway Golf Club have won through to the final of a prestigious competition. Jude Vider booked her place in the Gloucestershire final after winning the Kitcat Qualifier at the club with 37 points.
Healthy Entry From Stroud Ac for Relay
Sixty competitors from Stroud and District took part in the 18th running of the Cotswold Way Relay. This year Stroud submitted six teams of 10 to compete with 62 other teams over the 10 stages of the 103-mile race from Chipping Camden to Bath Abbey.
Turku Delight for Ciren's Fred
Fred Robson put 78 years of experience to good use to overcome tough conditions at the Turku Marathon. With temperatures topping 30 degrees centigrade, the Cirencester AC veteran finished second in his age category in the race, held in honour of Finnish Olympic legend Paavo Nurmi.
Brewer, Campbell Get Kaunas Call
Cheltenham duo James Brewer and James Campbell have been selected for the Great Britain squad for the European Under-23 Championships in Lithuania. Brewer and Campbell were named in the first wave of selections announced after the weekend's trials at Bedford, incorporated into the England Athletics Championships.

Josh Lilly, Severn AC's Midland Counties 5000m champion, ran the best county time of 2009 in the Manchester Open. He stayed with the leaders from the start until 1500m to go where he started to slip back.
Lightning Luke Tops Under-17 Rankings
At The British Milers Club Grand Prix in Manchester, 15-year-old Luke Carroll produced a big personal best to move to the top of the national Under-17 rankings at 1500m. The Cheltenham and County Harrier finished second in the D race in three minutes, 54.4 seconds, less than two seconds outside the British record for a 15-year-old, and he is in fine form as he seeks to win another title later this month in Sheffield.

Minchinhampton's Laurie Potter will captain Gloucestershire at the South West Boys' Championship at Woodbury Park GC on July 13- 15. Ben Smith says that signing for Cheltenham Town would be an "ideal move" for him. The midfielder has joined the Robins for pre-season training and is expected to feature in tomorrow's friendly against Bishop's Cleeve.

Andrew Tinkler has backed the decision to abandon racing at Worcester yesterday after one horse collapsed due to heat exhaustion. The Temple Guiting jockey said the welfare of the horses was the number one priority and their health could not be risked in the baking hot conditions.

Boss Martin Allen says the days of 'beasting' players are over as his Cheltenham Town squad returned for pre-season in searing temperatures yesterday. With only 15 professionals contracted to the club, two of whom, John Finnigan and Josh Low, are on the transfer list, Allen is putting the emphasis on injury prevention as the Robins warm up for their return to Coca-Cola League Two.
