Poppies On Sale in Centre

A POPPY shop has opened in Moreton-in-Marsh for the second year running. Estate agent James Hayman-Joyce has stepped in to give the annual Poppy Appeal a central base. Mr Hayman-Joyce offered his High Street shop as a high-profile facility last year after the town's Royal British Legion folded, leaving the vital appeal for British servicemen and women and their families in jeopardy. Cut-Price Pub Plan Worry for Villagers

VILLAGERS fear a bid to re-open a former Royal British Legion club will bring back underage drinking, drugs and anti-social behaviour. G and K Catering has applied to Cotswold District Council to set up a 'traditional pub and restaurant', with cut-price alcohol, at The Naight, Lansdowne, in Bourton-on-the-Water. It wants to promote armed services' fundraising events.
